19th C. Miniature Watercolor Portrait Painting, Young Woman, Lace Scarf (#4)

Description: Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely 19th Century framed miniature watercolor portrait painting of an beautiful young woman wearing a grayish-navy velvet dress with lacy white collar. The portrait has delicate, precise hand painted features with wavy black hair covered with a lace scarf. The portrait is signed, however, the signature is illegible. The oval portrait is held in place behind slightly convex glass with a brass/bronze bezel and is mounted in a hand decorated hand-cut piano key frame of the period with an attachment at top for hanging. The frame measures 5 1/2" high, 4 1/2" wide and 3/8" deep with the oval site measuring 3 1/4" by 2 3/8". Weighs 4.1 ounces. The painting is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There is some minor separation and faint cracks on the frame (see photos).
