Description: This is a 19th century Onyx Mourning Hair Locket with 51 rose cut diamonds set in 18ct Gold. The pendant is made of black Onyx and is adorned with diamonds. The frame around the glass on the back is also 18ct. Not missing any diamonds. The initials are "CH". There is a total of 1.07 cts of diamonds. The back compartment would have contained the hair of a departed loved one. The pendent is missing its bale, but any jeweler could replace it. This was made for the wealth of the time. The diamonds have a great sparkle as seen in video. The person who purchases this, will receive an appraisal that I acquired with it when I purchased it. The appraisal was done in 2015 and appraised, at that time, for $1,584.70. Surely this has gone up in the nine years since. This will be a prized piece in any mourning collection. Getting this at a good deal. Price set to sell.
