LETTERED EDGE. 2016 saw the first-ever lettered edge Eagles. This uncirculated burnished version had the lettered edge as well as the proof versions. The regular bullion eagles (no mintmark) had the regular reeded edge.I am selling a collection of SILVER EAGLES & Limited Edition sets, 2012 thru 2022, for a friend.I actually bought this coin from the Mint and when my buddy started collecting coins I let him have one of mine at cost. I bought this in 2016 for $49.95 and sold and re-bought it at the same price. This is a very nice coin and the 2016 Burnished Silver Eagle is one of my favorite coins. Unfortunately, in the mint capsule you can't see the edge and you can't photograph the edge without taking it out of the capsule. This capsule has never been opened.Unfortunately, many dealers and hustlers buy numerous sets and take the good coins out to send to grading. They reassemble the sets with the left-over rejected coins. You may have noticed how some sellers here have numerous sets or have already sold 30+ sets, or advertise their "last one". Exercise caution with sellers of multiple sets! The bigger the seller the worse they are about it, due to sending bulk submissions of hundreds of coins. I won't win any friends here by revealing that ugly truth. This is a choice coin at a fair price. You certainly can find "cheaper" ones here but you WILL NOT find "better" and probably not "as good as" my offer here.The reason this one is being sold is because my friend has discontinued collecting coins and selling his entire collection. Often, coins are sold for other reasons and some of which are not the best of reasons.As you can see, this is a choice coin. It is shown with numerous large photos that are in focus. In addition there is a high-definition video of the coin. These were shot with a real camera instead of with a deceptive "scan". Many sellers don't provide video. In part this is because it takes time, equipment and know-how. Some sellers don't provide video because it is hard to edit and photoshop out undesirable attributes. Another trick that some sellers do is to take an uncirculated Eagle and put it in a 2016-W box and try to pass it off as the more expensive burnished Eagle. Please note that genuine 2016-W burnished uncirculated Eagles have the "W" mintmark on the reverse (back) side of the coin as well as having a reedless smooth Lettered edge with incused letters.I hope that you appreciate me sharing information that I learned the hard way. Some sellers will not be pleased though.
