Description: A pack of 2 Wacom Finetip 0.4 Pens. Each sale is for 2 new, factory-sealed containers of the KP13200D 0.4 Finetip Pen, so selecting a quantity of 2 means 4 pens, 3 means 6 pens, so on and so forth. Discounts applied to purchasing multiples. The Wacom Finetip Pen is designed for an integrated feature of the Wacom Intuos Pro Medium (PTH-660) and Large (PTH-860). It only works for these two tablets, not the Small or previous generations of the Intuos. It does not require the 'Paper Edition' marketed by Wacom; any PTH-660 and PTH-860 comes with this feature. All you need is paper and one of these pens. The Wacom ACK42213 Paper Clip helps since it's specifically designed for the Intuos and can be found for decent prices nowadays. This feature allows you to simultaneously draw ink on paper while having the Intuos capture your pen strokes and record them as digital lines which can be exported as a PNG file (among other formats, including text, DOC, Adobe Photoshop PSD, and even an MP4 video format that will show a timelapse of your writing/drawing) through the Wacom Inkspace App. For Windows, the app will have to be downloaded from Microsoft since Wacom doesn't provide the files directly from their website. The app is available for android and apple devices as well, but I have no experience on how well they perform. There is also a web version of the app as well, but, likewise, I have little experience with it. The Wacom Inkspace App will recognize your Intuos when it is plugged in. Attach a piece of paper (or multiple) on top of your Intuos active area and anything you ink with the Finetip Pen within the dotted corners of your active area will be sent to the app. This can be done live or, better yet, a charged Intuos will remember anything that you ink on paper when it is on and it displays a green light at the plus which turns blue as soon as you use the Finetip Pen. Press the blue plus on your Intuos for it to save anything you inked as a new layer or separate document through the app. The app will receive the saved data as soon as you plug it into a computer and open the app. Remember that you have to be signed into a Wacom account on the app to export any of your saved files. The Finetip Pen itself uses standard D1 pen refills. I have shown them as an example with one of my pens in the photos. Each box contains 1 Pilot Hi-Tec-C D1 size refill in the pen already and 5 spare capped Pilot Hi-Tec-C D1 size refills in a smaller envelope inside. This is important: Wacom has stored these pens in warehouses for years and the D1 refill inside the pen is always uncapped (no blue wax at the tip), so this one is dry upon first use. You must remove the D1 refill with the removable clip on the pen cap and let it sit tip-down halfway in a cup of water for a few days before it will actually draw ink. DO NOT submerge the D1 refill all the way and DO NOT put the actual pen in water. You only need to keep the tip of the D1 refill in water for it to eventually run again and it is my recommendation to use one of the other refills in the box before then because they run fine as soon the blue wax cap is removed. The pens can use any point size and ink color D1 size refill, from brands such as Uni, Ohto, and Schmidt among others available online, so you will always have refills available and do not have to buy the official Wacom ones (which are simply rebranded from makers they contracted for the pen: The ones for the 0.4 Finetip are Pilot's D1 Hi-Tec-C refills which are, unfortunately, no longer made in the D1 size). Thanks for reading. Let me know if you have any issues with the whole Wacom Inkspace experience, I'll try my best to help out. Shipping only to the contiguous United States.
