#2 Tiger Dancer Figure & Whip Wood Hand Carved Handmade Guerrero Mexico Folk Art

Description: I just received a large shipment from Mexico with lots of Masks and other wood carvings... This is a really wonderful Large Wood Figure of a Tiger Dancer with his whip. This piece was entirely hand carved and hand painted in Guerrero Mexico. **He balances on a small wood base, and is a bit wobbly, so you may want to put some wedges under the base to stabilize him better. It would make a great gift for the lover of Mexican Culture or a great focal piece for your own Mexican Folk Art Collection... He measures approximately; 15 3/4 inches tall by 13 inches wide & 6 inches deep. In mid August people take to the streets in Guerrero Mexico (see photo #6) dressed as tigers... "the traditional Tigrada is part of the religious syncretism of the residents of the municipality, combining the Catholic celebration of the Virgin of La Asuncion and requests and gratitude for the rains. In addition to the dancing and wearing traditional costumes, as part of the tradition, the tigers catch people, mainly children, who playfully fight them." I do combine shipping...
