Members of the Wild Hunt were known to fall prey to the seductive charms of the beautiful Moss Maidens, who often took Wild Huntsmen as their lovers. The Wild Hunt is an ancient folk myth prevalent across Northern, Western and Central Europe. The hunters are faerie and ghostly humans, who, along with their hounds and dogs, run across the autumnal or winter sky or just above the ground in mad pursuit of their quarry. See, I'm a gal who often spent her childhood summers in the north woods of Minnesota, so this bomb of pine and earth and bark brings me back to a good place.
