Paying homage to her, it’s always a great adventure of intuitive delivery! Unlike other attempts in which I used photographs as a base, this time I felt like building all of her face and background from scraps of letters, old book pages and envelopes that I found from Clarice herself as a way to honor her and also her passion for mailing. We lived in different eras, but we share this intimate pleasure for analog things. I collect stamps, postcards and old letters that I have used in my collages for many years, and to have had the opportunity to develop something I like so much with complete freedom was wonderful!
