Please use the photographs provided to check the quality of the coin overall. COIN INFORMATION:This 20p coin has the Corbière Lighthouse design on its reverse. The lighthouse was built in 1874 by Imrie Bell to the design of Sir John Coode. Construction materials for the tower, buildings and causeway were transported via barge from St Helier. An inclined railway transported the mixed concrete, which was cast on site. It was lit on 24th April 1874 for the first time, and was the first lighthouse in the British Isles to be built of concrete. The beam has a reach of 18 nmi (33 km), and was automated in 1976.
