Description: 2009 United Arab Emirates Five Dirhams Banknote Pick Number 26a Nice Very Fine For your World Currency Collection-PCU2141 Details Description: A nice very fine or better banknote from the United Arab Emirates on the eastern end of the Arabian Peninsula along the coast of the Arabian or Persian Gulf. This is the 1430 AH or 2009 issue of the 5 Dirhams issued by the Central Bank. The banknote is brown and orange on multicolor under-print on the front. The front is in Arabic and depicts the image of the Blue Souk in Sharjah to the right with arms in top of center. The back is brown and orange on multicolored background with some green in the center. It depicts image of the Bay of Khorfakkan in Fujairah with a tower to the right and a hawk to the left. The banknote displays the date in Anno Hegirae (1430) and the denomination on the front and the denomination as well as the date in Current Era (2009) all in English on the back. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number 019020742, which is displayed on the front once in Arabic in red and once in English in black, but is not displayed on the back. The banknote has a water mark depicting the head of a hawk and has a solid security thread right of center. Please carefully view scan as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: 2009. Printer: Unknown. Size: The banknote measures ~5 5/8" by ~2 3/8". Pick Number: P26a and is listed in the Banknote Book as B226a. Condition: I would grade the banknote as a very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note is clean with minimum soiling and no stains. It has a central vertical fold and two additional very light folds suggesting the note was folded twice and has a few minor bumps throughout. The edges are intact with minimum, if any, roughness. The corners are squared and intact with minimum rounding, again, if any. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits.
