Description: Striking scarce set of four dining chairs by the Danish designer Arne Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold Mobelfabrik. Executed in teak, the 1959 design demonstrates the apex of the organic, mid-century modern movement. The curved back, seat and armrests are in dramatic contrast with the tapered, straight legs. The arm rests are wrapped in their original black vinyl tape. In excellent, near-mint condition. Structurally perfect. The color is consistent and even. No chipping or losses to the wood or veneer. The legs appear to have been re-glued/renovated and are completely stable. and still original. The top back side of the back rest of one chair has a few shallow nicks/dents. One seat has a dent in the seat, but very minor. The vinyl wrap on the armrests are all intact. Dimensions: 31" tall. The backrest is19.5" wide. The armrests are 19" wide at the outside. The seats are 17" wide at the front and 15.5" deep. The are curved, and measure 17" high at the center, and appx. 18.25" high at the sides. The overall depth from front to back is appx. 20".
