Description: This great comprehensive set of stereoviews is by the the Keystone View Company. I believe the photos were all taken sometime before 1900. The first set of 97 boxed stereoviews are of Italy, Greece and Egypt. The second set of 101 stereoviews are all of what was known then as Palestine which includes present Palestine, Jordan, Israel and Syria. The photograph in the first set feature a world now long gone: almost empty streets with no electric wires and what vehicles there are are all pulled by horses or camels. People seem very naturally clothed in their ethnic style of clothing and many of the ruins are still in the tumbled down state before archeologists and forward thinking tourist planners got everything cleaned up and stabilized. In the photos of Palestine the scenes seem almost Biblical. It's hard to imagine that things didn't loo much different in the times of Jesus or even David. The photos clearly organized for the countries represented and some are consecutively numbered (especially the Palestine ones) but it is clear that the sets are not complete and may even be parts of different sets. However, the countries represented are fully covered and, as far as I could see, they are all keystone stereoviews (with maybe a couple of exceptions) and all the photos were taken contemporary with the 1895-1900 period.
