Depicted are a lulav (a ripe, green, closed frond of the date palm tree), flanked by two etrogim (citrons). The inscription on the coin reads "Year Four". It is interesting to note that the characters on the coin are of the Middle Hebrew alphabet which was used in the Holy Land from approximately 1300 to 400 BC, instead of the Late Hebrew alphabet (in use from around 400 BC to 100 AD)."
