His building style stands out by distinct body shapes of his instruments, original (sometimes non-traditional) choice of tone wood, and unique varnishing technique. His instruments impress with their superb tonal characteristics.Yuso Yamada is a royalty in the world of Japan’s violin making, belonging to Japan's most celebrated luthier dynasty. He is the son of Kenzo Yamada, who established himself as an important violin maker in Japan during the pre-war decade and passed his skill and building style onto his son. Kenzo Yamada is the nephew of Masakichi Suzuki, the founder of Japan's most important and successful violin making company, and cousin of Shinichi Suzuki, the founder of the world famous Suzuki Method. Despite its smaller size, this 7/8 violin impresses with its powerful projection and warm, full-bodied tone, rich with "woody" overtones. It is in excellent vintage condition. There are no cracks, repairs, or noticeable wear in the finish. The instrument appears to have minimal “playing mileage” on it (and probably has a meaningful upside to its already wonderful tone). The fingerboard, tailpiece, and end pin are original, while the pegs and the bridge appear contemporary. Overall, the violin is well preserved for its age and is play-ready. An interesting collector piece, this violin – powerful and responsive - will also reward the skilled player.Accessory OptionThe price shown is for violin only.
