Description: 8" Carnation McNicol Plate, Lithographed Roses with Green edge, 1900sMade by McNicol Pottery Company who made calendar and souvenir, household, and institutional ceramics from 1892 until the 1950s.These painted roses in the middle of the green-edged plate are orange-ish yellow, blue and purple. Who ever heard of these colors in roses? Blue? Seriously? Furthermore, who ever heard of so much green on a plate? It's interesting how the green is applied--it creates kind of an optical illusion. Makes it look like the plate isn't round. Or is it just me? It is truly unique and lovely. Further research tells me that is probably from 1910 or thereabouts. So, it's in very good condition for an antique plate. Please look at all the photos and read everything I've written about the condition and description of this item. Contact me via eBay if you have any questions that the photos or description do not answer. If I can ship it to you safely for less, I will refund you any significant difference.
