Which kind of glue do you need? The thicker the viscosity, the slower the glue dries and the better it is at gap filling. Medium is a great general purpose glue. Thick CA is especially good for laminating and takes longer to dry. On the other hand, Thin CA is expecially good for wicking deep into very tight joints and hairline cracks and dries very quickly. For best results, store CA in a cool dry place like a refrigerator - out of the reach of children of course. CA Glue is a fast-acting cyanoacrylate glue for hobby use. Rabid Models offers a wide selection of glue products on ebay and they are also sold on line. Triple-distilled CA glues are the best you can buy - they have the longest shelf life and have stronger bonds due to less impurities. Don't use inferior glue! I have three different kinds listed on ebay: SI-5 (Thin) is a water-thin CA that wicks deeply into tight joints by capillary action. Excellent for use with balsa since the glue will penetrate into the wood fibers, forming more than just a surface bond. Sets relatively quickly, usually in less than 5 seconds. SI-750 (Medium) is a medium viscosity CA for joints where a small gap must be bridged. Sets in about 5-15 seconds. SI-1500 (Thick) is twice as thick as the medium and is excellent for gap filling, and for laminating difficult to glue materials such as plywood or fiberglass. It sets in about 20-30 seconds. Curing time depends on the humidity in the air and on the surfaces being glued. SI stands for "surface insensitive" and this kind of CA is specifically designed to bond many kinds of materials extremely well, including dissimilar materials and materials that you may have found difficult to bond with inferior CA glue, such as plywood for example. The thicker the glue, the longer it takes to dry. (The thicker types are better for plywood. Thin grades are best for porous surfaces and very tight joints.) This is NOT foam-safe CA glue.
