Description: A Vintage Coronation of King Edward VIII May 12th 1937 England Small Cup Souvenir. In very good condition without any chips or cracks. There is some age related crazing and as these were cheaply made at the time, there may be flaws such as tags, grit which is common with these pieces. Cream overall colour with transferware commemorating the coronation of King Edward VIII featuring a central oval sepia image of King Edward VIII surrounded by British Royal and heraldic symbols. The coronation was scheduled for 12th May 1937 but he was never crowned as he abdicated the throne in December 1936 in order to marry the twice-divorced American socialite Wallis Simpson. This little mug is a fantastic piece of British History and is a perfect addition to any Royal memorabilia collection. Backstamp - Made in England and manufactured c1936. Measures 6.5 across inner rim, 8.5cm to handle and stands 6.5cm high. Please zoom in to photos for confirmation of condition and description.
