Description: The Air Force Combat Action Ribbon is officially hallmarked by the U.S. Institute of Heraldry. This ribbon is awarded to Air Force personnel who served in air or ground combat. Qualifying service on or after September 11, 2001. The service must be in a designated combat zone and for air combat, aircrew must be on aeronautical orders in direct support of combat activities and must be in combat. The color pattern of this ribbon is slanted red and yellow stripes and is ready to be worn on official uniforms. Air Force Combat Action Ribbons are made with the highest government standards and are US Military approved. All ribbons of the US Military are made in the USA. Ribbons are unmounted and do not come with a holding bar.
