Description: Alaska Sourdough Miner Pottery Sculpture Figurine Signed Letha Cress Woolf. In excellent pre-owned condition. This Alaska Sourdough sculpture was originally inspired by early settlers that traveled north to Alaska and who carried sourdough throughout their travels in order to make bread without yeast. Alaskan miners slept with their sourdough starters to keep them from freezing in the cold climate. Made from scraps after the throwing process, Letha's unique sourdoughs are each single editions. This sourdough sculpture is one of two that I have available. Very unique and beautifully made. This one measures approx. 4" tall x 3-1/4" long x 2-1/2" wide.
