Corners and edges are rubbed, bottom corners and spine caps are bumped. Edge of text block is age-toned all around, with some foxing to top edge, and a dent to bottom edge. Else, boards are sound, binding is tight, hinges and joints taut, and top corners are sharp. Interior is very clean. Endpapers are toned, show markings that have been erased, and the front free endpaper has been clipped. The half-title page is faintly smudged. Otherwise, no markings, stains, tears, foxing, or wrinkles. Missing dust jacket, though cover is protected in a plastic sleeve. Edition published in April 1912, with no subsequent printings stated to copyright. Presumed first state - lacks middle initial 'S' to cover, in addition to half-title bound in before full title page.
