Description: ALLORA AATS-3 TENOR SAXOPHONE, ENGRAVED BELL & BOW, MSRP $1,103.99! S/N TS18100xxxx. Allora is an Italian word that roughly translates to "at this moment" which is ideal to describe the power and projection of this horn: it burns! (This horn crushes the Selmer USA TS100, and you can do your own head-to-head play-test on that.) ALLORA IS THE BRAND OF MUSICIANSFRIEND/WOODWIND BRASSWIND, and their horns were made by B&S in Germany about 20-years-ago until B&S became Ja Muzik and only produced handmade brass instruments. Chateau made some Alloras, and this horn was made in the same factory that Selmer is using in China to produce the Seles Axos, STS711, and other models: that’s why it sounds and plays so great! When the sax tech did the professional set-up on this horn, he gave it a rave review when I picked it up: I was stunned when I played it because it sounds like the Allora 601 that B&S made for WWBW that was once in my collection. You can blast through Coltrane and Joe Henderson tunes on this horn, with the enclosed Yibuy 7 Golden Jazz mouthpiece (I use Yibuy tenor mouthpieces exclusively because they sound the closest to the Otto Link 6* that I bought in 1968, and played until 2006; check the Yibuy play-test on YouTube by an experienced saxophonist, and watch his reaction). That factory in China is now making horns to Selmer’s specifications, turning out some great-sounding horns! All used items are sold as-is, no returns.
