Description: Museum quality reproduction of an ancient pre-Columbian style pair of anatomically correct monkey-like male warriors, mounted on a wood-based plaque. The original is of gold from the Diquis region of southwestern Costa Rica, about 1000-1500 A.D. The original currently resides in the American Museum of Natural History. The finish on this replica piece is electroplated gold in high polish, and the attention to detail is quite remarkable. The details are crisp and clean and the piece is in good vintage condition and is marked on the back by the Alva Museum Replicas. The wooden plaque is 7” by 7”.
