Description: Wow, This is a super rare unit that should work with your Ammco Brake Rotor Lathe.(or adapted to most Lathes). The Carter Regent 1/3hp ,115v 5000rpm motor and 90 degree Gearbox at the end sound and work perfectly. It has a 2-3/4" Poly pivoting Swivel head you use adhesive to secure whatever conditioning discs you decide to use. Sanding Type paper or Probably the 3M Scotchbrite buffing disc pads. We've heard these are very popular in the racing Industry to have your Brake Pads "Break-in" or "Seat themselves" so they don't glaze on that first hard Braking. This will make a consistent surface finish if used properly. (not just a buffer on a die grinder). This should last a lifetime and/or hold it's value for decades. Perfect shape 10 foot 115 volt power cord. Please make sure this is what you want. We do accept returns, but buyer is responsible for shipping. We're not playing "Show-and-tell" at our expense. Info Found on Corvette and all Vehicles after Brake work: 1984 - 1996 Corvette: Service Bulletin: Change in Brake Effectiveness After Brake Work It is important that a rough and a finish cut be made. All brake lathes use a single-point cutting tool which is not capable of giving the necessary surface finish. A SECONDARY FINISHING OPERATION MUST BE PERFORMED TO OBTAIN THE NECESSARY SURFACE FINISH. An acceptable finish can be obtained using the Ammco Model 8350 Safe Swirl Disc Rotor Grinder, or equivalent, using 120 grit sandpaper and sanding each rotor surface with moderate pressure for a minimum of 60 seconds with the rotor turning at 150 RPM. An alternate method is to use a sanding block with 150 grit sandpaper. With the rotor turning at approximately 150 RPM, sand each side for a minimum of 60 seconds using moderate pressure. After the rotor has been sanded, the surfaces must be cleaned with a solvent such as brake cleaning, denatured alcohol, or equivalent. THE FINISHED ROTOR SURFACE SHOULD BE AS CLOSE TO THAT OF A NEW ROTOR AS POSSIBLE. FAILURE TO OBTAIN THE BEST POSSIBLE ROTOR FINISH WILL AFFECT INITIAL BRAKING PERFORMANCE.
