Description: Amtrak Brass Lapel Pin Collectible San Diegan Line Amtrak West 1996 Back in the 1990s, Amtrak was decentralized (kind of) and made in to different business units. One of these units wasAmtrak West which the San Diegan Product Line, responsible for the San Luis Obispo to San Diego line, was a part.. The individual units were given a large amount of freedom to operate and try new things. One of the things the SDPL tried was a internet store featuring custom-branded items. This was the San Diegan Emporium. Featured here is one such item. This is a brass lapel pin designed from original art work made just for this pin. It shows the San Diegan Express train (yes, there was such a train at the tine) coming around Los Angeles Union Station. This was to be the first pin in a series featuring the stations of the line. Sadly, this was the only pin produced. This pin is a high quality item of metal with all words and art work raised from the background. It measures 7/8" across. Take a look at the pictures.
