Description: This genuine ancient coin is a silver drachm of Greek Indo Scythian origin and features the bust of Hermaeus Soter on the obverse and Zeus seated on a throne on the reverse. It is a posthumous issue. The Indo-Scythians (also called Indo-Sakas) were a group of nomadic people of Scythian origin who migrated from Central Asia southward into the northwestern Indian subcontinent: the present-day South Asian regions of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. The migrations persisted from the middle of the second century BCE to the fourth century CE. (See photos) The coin is a great addition to any collection of ancient coins. 1898
