Annette Himstedt Doll "La Mei", 2006 Atlantis, No Gold, COA, Boxes, & Stand

Description: "La Mei" comes from Annette Himstedt's 2006 Atlantis Collection. She stands a life-sized 33.875" (86 cm) tall, has a medium light complexion with peachy blushing and peach tinted lips. The strands of her wavy, blonde, human-hair wig are tipped with strawberry-blonde highlights, and styled with 2 loose braids on either side of her head and 1 narrow braid in the center back. La Mei's blown-glass blue eyes do not close, but are are framed with real lashes. She does not have the Atlantis gold paint characteristic of some of the dolls in this collection. She is #308 of the 377 issued worldwide. La Mei is dressed in her original Atlantis costume, each item marked with the Himstedt label. She wears a delicate peach lace and sparkly tulle long-sleeved "ball gown". Her multi-layered full skirt is edged in a wired floral vine of daisies. The top layer of the skirt features vertical tulle ruffles with wired daisy vines in addition to the vine-edged scalloped hemline. She has a printed organza "girdle" at her waist and small puffed organza sleeves at her shoulders. Underneath it all is an organza and tulle body suit edged in peach crocheted trim. On her feet are gold leather laced-up sandals. A peach net shawl with gold painted shells completes the outfit. Although I am not La Mei's original owner, she is in excellent pre-owned condition. She may have been displayed briefly, but I can find very little evidence of wear. Upon close examination, I found 1 tiny, almost imperceptible, "greenie" on the back of one leg, a small dark mark on her right big toe, and a few small shiny spots mostly on a finger, ankles, and feet--not unexpected on a Himstedt doll of 2006 vintage (see photos). I tried to catch all blemishes, but possibly could have missed something. While photos of La Mei on the Himstedt site show her with braids looped atop her head, when she came to me, her braids were down. (It probably would be easy to arrange them as shown in the Himstedt photo, but I've left them as is.) Except for this slight variation in hairstyle, La Mei has not been altered in any way--no haircuts, repaints, restyling, etc. Her head, upper torso, arms and legs are made of hard cast vinyl; her lower torso is a velvety cloth. Articulations at her head, neck, shoulders, upper arms, and legs move smoothly and easily hold a pose. Her clothing has never been changed. She has her original COA, her original Himstedt inner box, and her original shipper. Since La Mei cannot stand alone, I am including a deluxe custom stand made especially for these large dolls. An adjustable metal rod that extends to more than 30" is attached to a hardwood walnut base and provides excellent support. Instead of metal "arms" encircling the body, Velcro straps safely secure the doll to the stand. With this stand you needn't fear even your largest "Himmies" toppling over or suffering rub marks from the metal "arms". La Mei will come to you from my adult collector's non-smoking, kitty-friendly home. She's in search of a new parent because I am retiring and must downsize my collection of large dolls. As dolls from the Atlantis collection are increasingly difficult to find, she would make a stunning addition to yours. She's a real beauty!!
