Description: Up for sale is an Antique 1800's African Congo River KUBA KINGDOM 18" Short Sword or Knife!!! This is a very nice short sword with a flared tip. The iron is good quality and shows some pitting and wear commensurate with age but is still quite solid. The handle is wood and wrapped with I believe iron wire as well which has a bit of a gold tone to it which means it may have been painted at one point. I know a lot of these typically have copper or brass wire wrapped handles but I don't believe this is brass, and it is definitely not copper. The piece is in very good condition for its age, with wear commensurate of the age. The iron has no major spots of rust but does have pitting and shows wear that is consistent with its age. It is clear this piece has been well preserved and cared for. The handle wire is a bit loose at the base of the handle, but otherwise there are no issues. Measures in at approximately 18" long.
