Description: Nice antique 1839 bound volume containing 20 hand colored plates from Modern Athenians. The book is in good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. It consists only of the 20 hand colored plates, no title page was ever bound in. The covers have some moderate wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is lightly toned from age with some occasional foxing, mild staining & grubbiness. There are penciled captions written below each of the hand colored figures. Along with that there may be the occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a small chip or tear, creased page corner, etc. Generally though, it's a good copy. The book measures approximately 11 3/4 inches by 15 inches. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition. All of the pages are shown in the photos.
