Description: Here is this amazing very rare early 20th century antique solid 18 K yellow gold handmade necklace with 7 handcarved natural shell cameo's that are each different from the next. Carefully examined under magnification this necklace is a work of art done by a master jeweler as it has such amazing detailed and very sturdy gold filigree work with a Etruscan revival design, the jeweler used lots of gold around each cameo and the filigree work is so very detailed, not a small necklace it weighs 28.7 grams and closes at 18.25 inches with a sturdy spring clasp that has a old marking on it but is not legible however it has been tested here around 18 K yellow gold the main cameo is also marked on the back " K 18 " on the back please know when this was made the process used did not allow jewelers to get an exact 750 but they were always close one direction or the other and these pieces have been very carefully acid tested all around 18 K consistent with the markings . The largest pendant in the center measures 1 1/4 inches top to bottom and the cameo about 21 mm or 3/4 inches top to bottom, the rest of the cameos graduate in size slightly and each one is a very beautiful female carving with the 3 of them on one side facing the center cameo and the other 3 on the other side also facing the other direction at the center.
