Description: Very Rare, Very Large & Very Heavy 19th Century Carl Thieme Dresden Vintage Porcelain Urn Pedestal Empire Ware Gild Design Courting Couple - 38”/ 3F 2” An outstanding piece of decorative porcelain art, quite detailed with great craftsmanship and an excellent addition to your home decor or collection. This Dresden porcelain vase/urn is of exceptionally high quality and in very good condition. It was hand crafted at the Carl Thieme Porcelain Works, in Dresden, at a time in which the area was establishing itself as a leading center that produced superb porcelain in its own unique distinct style. It exhibits the charming flamboyance of the German Rococo style and displays a highly detailed array of intricate porcelain flowers. Applied to its exterior, they are realistically arranged to give the impression that the vase itself is actually blossoming. It comes in 3 pieces: a base/pedestal, the body ( connected to the pedestal, it doesn’t come off), and a beautiful floral top. The Empire Ware gild design features a courting couple, adding a touch of romance to any room, and a high relief multicolored floral design, beautifully sculpted and hand painted on both sides. The handles on both sides are shaped in the form of two elegant short women torsos wearing sophisticated clothing and hair styles of the time. This vintage porcelain vase/urn is a beautiful addition to any collection, measuring 38 inches high and perfect for displaying flowers or as a decorative piece on its own.
