Description: h. 7-1/2 (over handle) w. 4-1/2 (over lid) Meiji period Ryubundo - maker's mark is on the left side of the lid in the picture. Ryubundo was a prominent tetsubin maker from the late Edo period until 1958. Antique Japan Tetsubin (iron tea kettle) wax casted in the 1880s and hand crafted. Has a bronze lid, wrought iron handle , solid with no cracks, all in good condition, interior has oxidation. Freshly cleaned and oiled. Baked in 200° oven until the oil had dried. Not technically seasoned, so an occasional oiling would be my suggestion.
