Description: This antique schoolteacher desk boasts a natural patina and is made from poplar and yellow pine. Measuring 29 inches in length and 21 inches in width, with a height of 14-3/4 inches, it features a lift-up door mechanism and one door. With two shelves, this Early American style desk has a theme of antique and is an original, not a licensed reproduction. The desk has all sides constructed from one piece of wood and has multiple carved letters and names. Please note that the original lock mechanics are missing and the hinges are not original. The desk is a flat pack and is from the time period of 1800-1899. It is perfect for use as a tabletop or free-standing desk. Upon finding, at quick glance, I thought Slat front had many scratches. Upon closer look, many are hand carved letters and names. Much history!
