Either side are ornate carved and pierced racks presumably for pens or documents. There is a velvet lined tray inside the box which lifts out to reveal a lower layer which is divided into 5 compartments. Alongside the brass decoration, the top of the box is also inlaid in brass with a dedication "FROM AMIN SONS & CO".The box is in good condition and is strong and sturdy with a lovely rich patina. There are signs of age and use, some small chips and knocks and minor wear but no major damages or losses. The interior is generally clean and tidy and it comes with its original working key.
