Description: RELISTED due to buyer nonpayment, so you get a second chance at a great deal, shoppers! PERFECT holiday gift for someone who appreciates antique jewelry. From the estate of an 86 year old who was gifted it by her mother in law, a renowned female violin virtuoso back in the Edwardian/Art Deco era, this gorgeous Art Deco (Edwardian?) rock crystal pendant (chain not included, only used to show the piece more clearly) a fine example of craftsmanship that we don't see anymore. The pendant is of a carved rock crystal with a single flower in a container in the center and the edges of the teardrop shaped pendant are carved for extra effect. The tip of the teardrop/pear has silver scallops inlaid with marcasite (pyrite) for subtle sparkle. Even the bail has marcasite. When you come across one of these rare gems, the bail and silver/marcasite is usually not this lovely. It might be German, as I was told the violinist was German and the very few I've seen even remotely similar to this are German. This is a substantial piece both visually and in the hand. They really don't make this kind of quality anymore. This would make a beautiful, heirloom quality gift for a Quinceanera, a graduation, for a new mother, Christmas, a birthday, or anniversary. It's definitely something you'll hand down for generations. About 2.25" long x 1.25" wide. If you are a fan of Victorian, Country/Cottage Core, Art Deco, Edwardian, Steampunk, and nearly any other design style, you will love this piece. Ships to continental USA via Priority Mail.
