Old repair at dogs mouth. Appears that the duck and the dog were originally carved as two separate pieces and the duck was held in place with a small nail. It appears the very front of the dogs lower jaw just in front of that nail has been broken off at some point and the duck has been reinforced in the dogs jaw with some kind of glue or epoxy type material. Again the is an old repair and does not detract from the beauty of this great piece. Actually took me getting this ready to list and photo to even notice repair. (SEE PHOTOS)
