Description: Bonzo Chalkware Bull Dog Figurine Carnival Fair Prize. Not a lot of color – remnants of green bowler hat and black spots. George Studdy created the one of the first cartoon character, Bonzo the Dog, in 1922 (about the same time as Felix the Cat). Bonzo quickly rose to popularity in the 1920's, and was one of the first mass merchandised comics images. Hallmarks: Hand etched on base "Hesser" Approximate age: Manufactured mid 1920's - 1930's Dimensions: 7” tall x 5” deep x 4” wide. Condition: Decent antique giftable condition. Most surface paint decoration eroded. Divots on green hat. Unpacked weight: 1 lb. 1 oz. Always happy to pass through discounts on combined shipping.
