Description: This listing is for a Antique 19th century book binding sewing press. Oak construction, this would have been used to clamp the unbound pages to sew them together prior to the actual binding. Measures 42 by 13 inches, stands 21 inches high, this larger size of press would have been used for the huge Bibles and ledgers of the time. Lovely patina with wear showing its usage, very decorative piece, great for antique book display. Please see the photos to appraise yourself.
