Description: Charming set of barrel shaped salt & pepper shakers. These were made by the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company, which was founded in 1828 and was closed in 1888, due to disputes with the labor union. The glass is a pretty blue. There is a thick base on both shakers. The lids are pewter and unscrew as seen in the photos. The Boston and Sandwich Glass Company was one of the earliest factories to produce pressed glass, making these a true historical antique. They will make a great addition to any EAPG glass collection. Each stands about 2" tall.
