Description: Antique BRADLEY & HUBBARD Cast Iron Colonial Officer Blinking Eye Mantel Clock Original rare antique from the 1800's and not a later reproduction piece.Heavy cast iron body and stand. A good quality German quartz movement has been fitted as the original was missing. An aged wooden spacer ring has been fitted behind the clock which allows it to be held in place without modifying the clock body.Replacement eyes made which don't move. A replacement bicorne hat has been made from epoxy putty and has been aged by the use of acrylic paint. Paint is probably not original, but would be easy to repaint to give a more original look.Original screws for the body are missing, so aged brass ones are fitted with threads wrapped in plumbing tape for a tight fit. No cracks to the cast iron body or base. A nice original cast iron body that has been sympathetically restored to a working and displayable condition.Use it as it is, or re-paint it for a more original authentic look.
