Description: A small set of brass scales for weighing letters on a wooden base made by Sampson Mordan in the late 19th Century. The base has a serpentine front with four bun wooden feet. The scales come with 5 brass weights - 8oz, 4oz, 2oz, 1oz and 1/2oz. There is a recessed area on the base for the weights. The two heavier ones are antique but may be additions to the other three, which sit more comfortably in the recessed area.
