Description: This 160-year old Antique German China Doll is ready to be displayed, and she is a decorator's dream at a price that is impossible to resist for such a large and beautiful girl! At a height of 26 inches, this porcelain shoulder-head doll stands well above the rest. Honestly, she has quite a wonderful presence with her smiling expression, which is not always the case with the German China Heads, or any doll, for that matter. You know what I mean; this is one you really want to look at because she looks kind and pleasant, and really sweet. She increases the happiness in a room; - increases the endorphins! Big girlie has painted detailed blue eyes, single stroke brows, accented nostrils, and a closed coral mouth set into a pleasant expression. Her cheeks are nicely blushed with pale pink, and her features are well-defined. Her hair is sculpted black with a center part and side-cascading curls. The shoulder head is broken with losses, and an old repair has securely tied the shoulder head to the body. I have not disturbed this because the shoulder head piece is strongly and securely attached to the body. The repair looks to be from the 1950's -judging from the kitchen string used. Her hand-stitch-jointed shapely torso has black kid boots, lovely kid arms and a solid hard-stuffed upper body. The kid has great losses, but the body is pretty much intact now, after being nicely repaired. This big girl wears what is a very old (1860’s) dress featuring a lovely cotton red and white all-over floral print, which has paled to pink and tea. She is a decorator's dream and an antique presence. She is not a collector’s doll, but if you want a pretty antique doll pr at a very reasonable price, then take her, she’s yours!
