Description: Giles Johnson lived from 1804 to 1872. According to the bottom of the chair, his second wife Millie Rich rocked her babies in this chair. She lived from 1818 to 1858. (So the pencil mark that says she rocked her babies around 1800 is not right, however the chair may be that old or older. I'm not sure.) Faint gold stenciling. Millie must have been awfully small - this looks like a child's size chair. That family was from Dayton, New York. This chair came out of an estate in Boston. Thanks for looking! 😀
