An 18th century oval shaped pierced creamware chestnut basket and original stand with intertwined rope twist handles terminating both inside and out with delicate floral detail. Both the piercings and the modelings are crisp and well defined. The basket measures approximately 6.75 inches by 4.75 inches flaring to 8.75 inches by 6.25 inches at opening, sitting 2.75 inches off table to top of handle. The stand measures approximately 10.75 inches by 9 inches and sits almost an inch off the table. Provenance: deaccessioned from the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco. Museum inventory number painted on foot but is not permanent and can be removed. The item(s) are antique and sold as is/as found unless otherwise noted. Because they are old, they were used and will not look new or new-like.
