Description: We are offering this Antique Technical Engraving from the Encyclopédie Diderot et D'Alembert, published in France from 1751 to 1772 and illustrated by the French Old Masters artist, Robert Bernard (1734–1777) dir exit (signed in plate, lower right). It is an Original Engraving/Bookplate on paper. At bottom is says - "Menuisier en Meubles, Sieges et Banquettes" or Carpenter in Furniture, Seats and Benches. It is labeled "PL.2" (Plate #2). All the engravings from this encyclopedia are incredibly detailed and realistic. Nice, Deep impression. There has been minimal yellowing and the images are sharp and don't appear faded. The piece was framed by J.Pocker & Son (high-end NY/Conn framers), using UV reducing museum glass. 7/8" Wide, Flat Black/Dark Brown wood moulding with an Antiqued Gold/Silver lip and UV reducing glass are included in this listing.Image opening measures 7 1/2 X 10 1/8 and is in Good condition.Outside of the frame measures 9 1/4 X 11 3/4 and is in Good condition with corner chipping and touchups.Please carefully examine all images for condition.
