Description: Presented is an old, French sterling silver beaker or cup from the1760s through the 1780s. The cup or beaker is simple in design, with only a thin band around the lip for decoration. It appears there has been a monogram removal, but it is only really noticeable upon inspection. The underside is marked with the intertwined RS letters for the French provincial mark for Reims used from 1774-1780. A kind eBayer has informed us that the exact date is 1777. This piece is definitely 18th-century, approximately 230 to 260 years old. The silver purity is at least 925 sterling purity. This piece is in great condition for its age. There are some dings and perhaps a monogram was removed from the side. Otherwise, there are no breaks, no splits, no monograms and no repairs. The cup measures 2 3/8 inches in diameter, is 2 3/8 inches tall and weighs 64.8 grams or 2.3 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
