Description: Antique French Faded Red Coral Quilt Panel 19th C ~ Exquisite! Stunning red coral /algae/ seaweed design!!! Rare antique 19th C French textile. A wonderful piece for the collector, textile study, archival, quilt repair. A stunning textile for a pillow, frame, display, patchwork, slow stitching, journals, etc. Material: 100% Cotton. 100% Antique Measurement: 22 inches width approx.30 inches length approx. The red coral/seaweed pattern is a small~medium scale with the coral measuring 1.75" approx. at widest point and the other coral design slightly under that measurement at the widest point. Condition: Finely woven lightweight cotton, clean, soft, quilting pin pricks when held to the light. Quilting wrinkles /folds and aging toning throughout and more significant on the right edge and very bottom edge where these mentioned areas were the sides of the quilt. The right hand corner bottom area has some threadbare areas along with a few small holes as well as a few small holes within the main area when held to the light. Feels strong enough to sew with, gentle fading to the red coral design. The red color is gently faded, not as vibrant as the photos appear. The ground is a cream color with age/toning. One tiny pale speck, some tiny rust spot or speck ~ as shown in the photos. The back is just as stunning! I love the subtleness of the color and pattern showing through.
