Description: Silver Toddy ladle with bowl inset with a King George Silver Shilling and whale bone twisted handle. Created during the reign of George II (1727-1760) Inset into the bowl is s coin, a silver schilling with King George on the front and the date 1741 on the back. Because the bowl is made of silver and has a dated silver coin inset in, the piece is not hallmarked, as the silver coin, itself, was proof it was silver. Circular bowls inset with coins were popular between 1755 to 1780. No Monogram on the bowl. Dimensions: 17" x 3.5"x 2-1/4" Weight: 1.2 Oz. Twisted horn handle with silver tip.
