Description: Please email with any questions. Collection of nine antique handbills advertising the daily concerts that were held for the tourists who had traveled to this fashionable spa town to "take the waters". The handbills measure 8" by 10", printed by Franieck in Karlsbad with a Secessionist/Art Nouveau style border design. Concerts of 1908 featured the music of Grieg, Dvorak, Grube, Beethoven, Elgar, Debussy and Wagner among others. The 1909 concerts featured works by Saint-Saens, Rimsky-Korsakov, Schumann and Wagner among others. The handbills were very likely stapled to a notice board- most have staple holes along the top edge. The paper is thin, slightly toned and with some loss and tears on the edges.
