Description: Here for auction is a beautiful and very old set of six knives with their felt holder. The blades are all marked J. Russell & C. Green River Works. They measure approx 10" long. One of the six is missing its handle. The handles appear to possibly be bone. While these knives most certainly have been used, they appear to be in quite good condition. A wonderful and antique set of Green River Works knives...A bit about Russell Knives:John Russell began manufacturing tools and cutlery in 1834 and established a new factory on the Green River in Massachusetts in 1836. His knives rivaled the quality of those manufactured in Sheffield, England, and as settlers moved West in the 1840s Russell's Green River knives moved with them.John Russell founded the Green River Works in 1834 in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Using the Green River for water power, he produced various knives for hunting and skinning. These knives became world famous and were prized in the United States wild frontier. I offer this as found and as shown and have done my best to describe it. Please read all of my description and look at all of the images as they are an important part of the description. I then plug those numbers in and ebay calculates the exact cost at the least expensive way, to your zipcode. I use USPS and Fed Ex, whichever works best. I don't charge for packing nor handling. If you need to cancel your bid, please don't ask me to do that for you. Often times I am not near my computer. It is easier for you to cancel your own bid with no problems from me nor ebay. I will ship worldwide, I am however enrolled in ebays Global Shipping Program and if your country is included, then you can easily find the shipping costs by checking your ebay page. I am not able to. For all out of country buyers I will only ship with ebays global shipping program as the tracking # works all the way to your door and the item is insured.
