Description: This very large planter is Antique from the 19th century (1888-1902) It is marked Maddocks, Lambert Works, Royal Porcelain (see company history below). It is designed with pink flowers on a green background. The green graduates from a light mint green to a fuller green tone at the rim. The rim is scalloped, and gold gilded. This piece is Victorian in style with Embossing in sections and gold gilding at the top and bottom. The flowers are delicate in design. This piece is very large for a statement planter. It is heavy weighing about 12 lbs. 4 ozs. It measures 13.5" wide and 11" tall. The opening measures 12" wide on the interior top. This piece is antique dating back to the 1800s. It does have a professionally repaired hairline crack that I noted in the photos, but it is stable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. This size of a planter in this style is extremely rare and hard to find! There is a $40 handling cost added to the shipping charge to cover the cost of professional packaging and materials. Thomas Maddocks bought the Lamberton Works in 1888, renaming it Maddocks Lamberton Works and produced high-quality domestic and commercial china sold to restaurants, railroad companies, and hotels all over America. Thomas Maddock died in 1899, and his sons renamed the company Thomas Maddocks Sons Co in 1902.
