Description: Antique Meiji Period Japanese Bronze Engraved Page Turner, Letter Opener with pointed tip. The handle is decorated on both sides. It is decorated to the front with an embossed Phoenix Bird in flight . The reverse of the handle depicts Peony Flowers and other plants in an urn. There are birds and what looks like a bonzai plant near the base of the urn. The blade is etched on both sides, one side with a flower, a bird, and vines. The other side with bamboo, a circle and leaves. A great piece of antique Japanese metalwork! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century. Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: It has small spots of tarnish here & there. Otherwise, expected light wear consistent with age.
